Daniel Edward "Dan" Aykroyd was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on July 1, 1952.
He was born with two birth defects: syndactyly, a rare condition where fingers are partially fused, and heterochromia iridum, causing his eyes to be different colors (right eye green, left eye brown).
SNL Years and Rise to Fame
Aykroyd originally aspired to become a priest before attending Carleton University to study criminology and sociology.
